While processing online transactions, fraud can occur. It is up to you to enable the risk tools on your account that effectively work with the way you process transactions.
Transaction Filtering is used to block any transactions that are made from unwanted sources. If you notice suspicious activity occurring from specific IP addresses or credit card numbers on your account, you can block them from processing.
Alternatively, you can allow transactions to process only when they are made from specific IP addresses that you are comfortable with.
Must know:
- Transaction Filtering only applies to internet orders
- If you have IP addresses entered in the “Accepted IPs” box, only the listed IPs will be able to process transactions.
How do I block certain transactions from processing on my account?
- Within the Portal go to Administration > Account Settings > Transaction Filtering.
- Enter any IP address you would like to block in the “Restricted IPs” box.
- Click ‘Add’ to enter the IP address you would like to restrict.
- Click ‘Add’ again to block the IP address.
- Enter any credit card you would like to block in the “Restricted Cards” box.
- Click ‘Add’ to enter the credit card you would like to restrict.
- Click ‘Add’ again to block the card.
- Enter any IP address you would like to accept in the “Restricted IPs” box.
- Click ‘Add’ to enter the IP address you would like to accept.
- Click ‘Add’ again to allow the IP address to process transactions.
Good to know:
- Transaction Filtering is a reactionary tool that will make your account more secure with every IP or credit card you block.
- If many or all of your transactions originate from specific IPs, you can add these addresses as Accepted IPs.
