When you process a pre-authorization, customer cards are validated but no funds are transferred until you process a pre-auth completion. Merchants can review customer-submitted data and identify high risk situations before completing the transaction.
If you use a custom website payment page or third-party shopping cart, this setting should be implemented with your developer or system provider.
In some instances, additional service fees may apply if a pre-authorization is never completed. See pre-authorisations and pre-auth completions
- In the Online Member Area, go to administration, and select account settings, and click order settings.
- In the Payment Gateway section, under Validation Options, select the check box for Restrict Internet Transaction Processing Types and then select either:
- Pre-Authorization Only
- Purchases and Pre-Authorizations
- Click Update.
